Graduation Requirements
A system of credits are provided for Parent Academy courses. Parent Academy Members choose from a variety of activities to earn these credits. Credits will be totaled at the end of the year to acknowledge participation and achievement. An awards ceremony with cap and gown will recognize parents for being powerful partners to their child(ren) and the school. See the Graduation Requirements page for more information.
12 credits : Parent Academy Graduate
16 credits : Parent Academy Honor Graduate
20 credits : Parent Academy Cum Laude Graduate
24 credits : Parent Academy Summa Cum Laude Graduate
28 credits : Parent Academy Magna Cum Laude Graduate
CREDITS
How do I start earning credits?
Attending Classroom or Grade Level events (Meet the Teacher night, MOOSE night, class parties, awards ceremonies)
Attending School Events (PTA meetings, School Carnival, Math, Reading, or Science (Academic) nights)
Attending District Parent Academy classes such as Understanding the Family System as a Whole, or Family Literacy Events
Volunteer hours working as a partner with the school. (PTA volunteer, Join PTA, Volunteer for Room parent)
Attending District Events (HEB READS, Showcase)
Guidelines & Transcripts:
Points are awarded to individual adults. It is each member's responsibility to sign in at each event.
Make sure to note on your Parent Academy Transcript which events you attend.
When you've met your goals, apply for graduation by sending in your transcript.
