Unit 1 Patriotic Unit

We will sing songs of America, listen to music by John Philip Sousa, review the instruments of the orchestra, play a variety of percussion instruments and games to the steady beat and various rhythm patterns.  

Goal #1: 95% of all 1st-6th grade students will keep a steady beat using different body percussion and non-pitched percussion instruments at a level 3 or above, as measured by the music rubric using a variety of songs and games, by the middle of the six weeks. 

Goal #2: 95% of all 1st-6th grade students will perform various rhythm patterns using different body percussion and non-pitched percussion instruments at a level 3 or above, as measured by the music rubric using a variety of songs and games by the end of the six weeks.

Kindergarten

Goal: 100% of all students will use musical instruments correctly and play at appropriate times, as measured by the music rubric, by the end of the six weeks.
