š¢ Don't miss the EAGLE'S NEST NEWS for all your weekly announcements! š¦ Fall Break 11/24-11/28: NO SCHOOL! š
š¦ Hello Eagle Families!
We hope you all had a wonderful Fall Break and enjoyed some time to rest, relax, and make memories together. š The Friday before break was such a special day on campusāit was filled with smiles, laughter, and excitement, and it reminded us just how much joy your children bring to Lakewood each day. Weāre recharged and ready to carry that positive energy into the next few weeks! šĀ
Holiday Festivities
Weāre soaking up a calmer week before all the holiday fun begins! š Throughout the month, students and staff will join in themed dress-up days, so keep an eye out for details from your childās teacher. Weāll also be cheering on our amazing spellers during the Lakewood Spelling Bee on Friday! š¦
Spelling Bee ā Friday
This yearās Spelling Bee will be streamed virtually so all students can tune in from their classrooms while continuing their daily lessons. Families of students who are competing are welcome to join us in the cafeteria to watch the event in person. More details will be shared soon by Mrs. Melancon, our Spelling Bee coordinator.
Dadās Club Toy Drive š
Itās time for our annual Dadās Club Toy Drive, benefiting the Angel Hearts Foundation! A collection bin is located at the front of the school, and weāre asking families to send in new, unopened toys. The homeroom class with the most donations will win a Hot Chocolate Party! āš Toys can be sent with your child to their classroom, where teachers will keep count and add them to the front collection bin. Thank you for helping spread kindness and joy this holiday season! š
Have a great week, thank you for your continued partnership!

REMINDERS:
ARRIVAL DROP OFF: Parents, for safety reasons, we ask that you only drop off your student in the designated drive through area where staff are available to help open car doors each morning- not parking spots, handicapped spots, or across the street. We understand everyone is on a schedule, but our first priority is safety!
TRAFFIC FLOW AT DISMISSAL: Please be aware that beginning Monday, Euless PD will be on site and may issue tickets to families who are not following the traffic flow pattern in the front circle drive and the Kindergarten/1st grade dismissal area. We know dismissal can feel congested, but the process moves much fasterāand stays saferāwhen everyone follows the traffic flow expectations.Ā
EARLY DISMISSAL: Front office will not process early dismissals after 2:45 p.m. If you need to pick up your child early, please arrive before 2:45 p.m. This helps ensure a smooth dismissal for all students at 3:05 p.m.
STAY CONNECTED: Donāt forget to check our school website regularly for the latest updates, upcoming events, and important announcements. Itās the best way to stay in the loop and make sure you donāt miss out on all the great things happening at Lakewood Elementary!Ā
Additional Information will be Communicated Throughout the School Year
The 89th Session of the Texas Legislature enacted new laws pertaining to schools and could pass more during Special Sessions. When new laws are passed, school districts typically have to wait for additional information to be released by the Texas Education Agency about how to implement the new laws. As this new TEA guidance is released, we will communicate with HEB ISD families if there are significant changes to any processes impacting students.
