š¦ Hi Lakewood Families!
As we enter the final bit of preparation for the Grades 3ā6 ELAR STAAR assessment, our students and teachers have been working diligently and we are seeing that growth each day. The ELAR STAAR will take place Tuesday, and it is extremely important that all students are at school next week, especially on testing day, so they can participate in final review and be present to demonstrate their learning. Thank you for your continued support!Ā
šCulture Night ReflectionĀ
We had an incredible evening at our first annual Culture Night! It was truly special to see our students, families, and staff come together to celebrate the rich diversity that makes our campus so unique. From the student-created displays and performances to the engaging activities and parent-led presentations, every part of the event reflected the pride and care our community has for one another. We are so grateful to everyone who contributed their time, talents, and energy to make the night such a success. We look forward to continuing this tradition and are excited to see it grow even more in the years to come!Ā
š 6th Grade Whiz Quiz
We are excited to cheer on our 6th Grade Whiz Quiz team as they head into the district championship this Monday! Our team has had an outstanding, undefeated season, and we are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication. They will face Bedford Heights on Monday, April 13 at 3:15 PM at the Pat May Center. We wish them the very best as they prepare to compete for the district title and represent our campus so well!Ā
š« Closed Campus - Testing Dates
As we enter testing season, we will have several closed campus days to ensure a focused and secure testing environment for our students. On April 14, April 21, and April 28, our campus will be closed to visitors, including during lunch times. We appreciate your understanding and support as we prioritize a calm and distraction-free setting for all students during these important assessment days.Ā

REMINDERS:
ARRIVAL DROP OFF: Parents, for safety reasons, we ask that you only drop off your student in the designated drive through area where staff are available to help open car doors each morning- not parking spots, handicapped spots, or across the street. We understand everyone is on a schedule, but our first priority is safety!
TRAFFIC FLOW AT DISMISSAL: Please be aware that beginning Monday, Euless PD will be on site and may issue tickets to families who are not following the traffic flow pattern in the front circle drive and the Kindergarten/1st grade dismissal area. We know dismissal can feel congested, but the process moves much fasterāand stays saferāwhen everyone follows the traffic flow expectations.Ā
EARLY DISMISSAL: Front office will not process early dismissals after 2:45 p.m. If you need to pick up your child early, please arrive before 2:45 p.m. This helps ensure a smooth dismissal for all students at 3:05 p.m.
STAY CONNECTED: Donāt forget to check our school website regularly for the latest updates, upcoming events, and important announcements. Itās the best way to stay in the loop and make sure you donāt miss out on all the great things happening at Lakewood Elementary!Ā
Additional Information will be Communicated Throughout the School Year
The 89th Session of the Texas Legislature enacted new laws pertaining to schools and could pass more during Special Sessions. When new laws are passed, school districts typically have to wait for additional information to be released by the Texas Education Agency about how to implement the new laws. As this new TEA guidance is released, we will communicate with HEB ISD families if there are significant changes to any processes impacting students.
