Veteran's Day Luncheon - Tuesday, November 11th ā
We invite our families to join us for our Veterans Day Luncheon on Tuesday, November 11th, during your childās lunchtime in the Eagleās Nest. This special event is a time to honor and celebrate the veterans in our Lakewood community and to show our appreciation for their service. Our Eagle Choir will perform, and families can complete the Google Form (linked) to have their veteran featured in our school slideshow. We look forward to coming together to recognize and thank those who have served our country!Ā
Our Eagle Choir will also be performing that evening in the Cafeteria (flyer attached below).Ā
BridgesWork š¤
BridgesWork is a wonderful partnership weāve developed with Ash Lane UMC, and they do so much to support our Lakewood community! They meet with students once a month on Saturdays to build relationships and provide mentorship. BridgesWork is currently looking to add more Lakewood students to their groupsāthis is a great opportunity for kids to connect, grow, and be supported by caring mentors. Check out the website if you would like some more information! https://www.bridgeswork.org/Ā
Kindness Character Trait Awards š
We recently celebrated our Character Trait of Kindness, recognizing students who go above and beyond to show care, respect, and compassion toward others. Weāre so proud of these students for spreading kindness each day and making Lakewood a warm, welcoming place for everyone!Ā

REMINDERS:
ARRIVAL DROP OFF: Parents, for safety reasons, we ask that you only drop off your student in the designated drive through area where staff are available to help open car doors each morning- not parking spots, handicapped spots, or across the street. We understand everyone is on a schedule, but our first priority is safety!
TRAFFIC FLOW AT DISMISSAL: Please be aware that beginning Monday, Euless PD will be on site and may issue tickets to families who are not following the traffic flow pattern in the front circle drive and the Kindergarten/1st grade dismissal area. We know dismissal can feel congested, but the process moves much fasterāand stays saferāwhen everyone follows the traffic flow expectations.Ā
EARLY DISMISSAL: Front office will not process early dismissals after 2:45 p.m. If you need to pick up your child early, please arrive before 2:45 p.m. This helps ensure a smooth dismissal for all students at 3:05 p.m.
STAY CONNECTED: Donāt forget to check our school website regularly for the latest updates, upcoming events, and important announcements. Itās the best way to stay in the loop and make sure you donāt miss out on all the great things happening at Lakewood Elementary!Ā
Additional Information will be Communicated Throughout the School Year
The 89th Session of the Texas Legislature enacted new laws pertaining to schools and could pass more during Special Sessions. When new laws are passed, school districts typically have to wait for additional information to be released by the Texas Education Agency about how to implement the new laws. As this new TEA guidance is released, we will communicate with HEB ISD families if there are significant changes to any processes impacting students.
