Expectations

What to expect from Choir:

• Choir performs in regular concerts as well as at special events for the school and community. Choral students are trained in vocal technique, artistry, and musicianship. Students will experience a variety of quality music literature through its practice and performance. Students will acquire the skills needed to perform this literature, based on district curriculum and TEKS, and will have the opportunity to perfect it for the enjoyment of many different audiences.

• The intent of the program is to increase each student's understanding and appreciation for classical music, choral repertoire and singing. Students will be trained to develop musicianship, improve management of their vocal instruments, and to develop self-discipline along with a sense of achievement and pride in the ensemble based on their own contributions. It is the goal of this program that students will be set on a course for a life-long enjoyment and performance of music.
