Logistical Care

On this page you will find resources for different kinds of logistical and practical support that one can receive or offer. Where possible, we have linked to organizations and platforms that specialize in such care. As part of the INAYA Care Fund, we are working with partner organizations to link vetted volunteers with impacted individuals for logistical care. At this time, this offering is being piloted with partner organizations but in the meantime, we hope the information below serves as a resource for every individual in our community to offer practical logistical support to the impacted friends and family in their respective communities.

Meal Trains

Meal trains allow for the impacted person to have one less thing to worry about. One less thing "on their plate" so they can focus on healing, grieving, or doing what they need to and have the act of feeding and nourishing themself taken care of.

The How

With Meal Trains, community members can play a role in organizing food to be delivered or dropped off to the impacted person's residence for a period of time. This is often used for individuals recovering from birth, surgery, illness, or when there is a death resulting in debilitating grief.

Childcare

As a reproductive justice organization, we believe all families should have the support they need to thrive in abundance, free from violence, and with support from their communities. We recognize how under our capitalistic society, it can feel burdensome to attend to one's own needs when there is a resposibility to caretake for young ones. At the same time, there are those in our communities who can and do love to offer childcare support and to engage our youth in movement spaces so they can feel a sense of belonging.

The How

As an offering of logistical support, you can help an impacted individual source for childcare from their immediate community of support, their local religious community network, or professional childcare websites such as care.com, nannylane, or facebook groups for babysitters in your region.

Mutual Aid/Fundraiser

Individuals who are impacted may need funds from their community to cover the costs of funeral arrangements, transportation, medical bills, legal fees, childcare, or basic needs. The burden to set up the backend fundraising platform can feel overwhelming or unfamiliar.

The How

One way to offer logistical support is to set up fundraising pages for impacted individuals.  Another way to support is by looking for grants, funds, and pools of funding they can apply to and assist them with the applications.

Legal Defense

There could be a number of circumstances that call for legal defense. Protesters being arrested and detained. FBI visiting Muslims at their homes. Employees being fired for speaking out in their workplaces for Palestine. Students being harassed. Children being bullied. Hate violence murdering our people.

The How

Lawyers can take on your case to fight discrimination, legal charges brought against you, or address unwanted engagement with law enforcement. As a form of logistical support, you can assist an impacted person by reaching out to these legal agencies, checking their capacity for the case, and helping the impacted person submit any paperwork. You can also provide emotional support as they re-live trauma that they may be speaking about to the lawyers

Emotional Support

We are not okay. And the closer you may be to the various centers of violence, the harsher the impacts on one's mental and emotional well-being. Therapy may not be accessible to everyone. So with that, here are some resources to support with emotional well-being.
