THE PROJECT
Target Project
What we refer to as the Target Project is descriptive of the entire comprehensive, facilities project that the board of education seeks to complete.
Completion of the Target Project requires successful passage of the bond initiative in the upcoming May 14th election.
The Target Project would then be financed with the combined proceeds of both the 2022 bond issuance and the 2024 bond issuance.
All 16 project elements listed below (Tiers A, B, and C combined) are included in the Target Project.
Contingency Project
What we refer to as the Contingency Project is descriptive of a smaller facilities project that will be completed if the bond initiative fails to pass at the upcoming May 14th election.
The Contingency Project would be financed only with the proceeds of the 2022 bond issuance.
The Contingency Project will include all of the items in Tier A.
The Contingency Project will include only some of the elements in Tier B. The elements from Tier B that will be included in the Contingency Project are still being determined at this time.
No elements from Tier C will be included in the Contingency Project.
TIER A
All of these improvements will be made regardless of whether the May 14th bond initiative passes or fails.
TIER B
Some of these improvements will still happen if bond initiative fails to pass by utilizing the financing provided by 2022 bond proceeds.
The Tier B elements that will be included if the bond initiative fails is still being determined.
Completing all of these improvements will require passage of the bond initiative at the May 14th election.
TIER C
None of these improvements can be completed without the passage of the bond initiative at the May 14th election.

A BRIEF EXPLANATION OF THE PROJECT'S COMPONENTS

Construct New Early Childhood/Daycare Facility
The new Early Childhood/Daycare Facility will expand preschool programming, create space for a community operated daycare facility, provide before and after school care programs, and add space for an infant room and toddler room. Additionally, the new facility will have the efficiency to provide early childhood ESCI services.
Construct New Pre-K Playground
Per state regulations, a pre-K playground must be separate from the playground for older children. The new playground will be for pre-K students only.
Add Fire Sprinkling to Existing Building and New Construction
Any addition to the existing building, now or in the future, will require code updates. These code updates will apply not only to the new space, but also to the existing building. Fire sprinklers are one of the code updates included in the project scope and will be installed in the new addition and existing building.
Replace and Upgrade Electrical Power Supply to Building
Construction of any addition to the building, now or in the future, will require an increase in the electricity supplied to the main building and the physical plant. A larger power line and transformer are needed and will replace the current electrical supply systems. The planned replacement and upgrades will meet future electricity power needs of the existing building, planned building additions, and significant additions that may happen in the future.
Replace and Upgrade Electrical Switch Panels, Breaker Panels and Main Distribution Wiring
See #2. Similar to the power supply equipment upgrades, a new electrical switch gear, distribution panel will be required for any addition. The existing fused panelboards are original to the building and have outlived their 70-year lifespan.
Replace, Upgrade, & Unify Fire Alarm System
See #2 and #3. Similar to #2 and #3, upgrades are needed to meet fire codes in the existing building as well as any new additions.
Main Entrance and Office Expansion and Renovation
The main entrance and office renovation will create a safe, secure front entrance for students, staff, and teachers that also provides a vestibule for visually screening each visitor to the school. The renovation will also add a visually pleasing and welcoming entrance for the community.
New Activities Entrance and Connection between Vo-Ag Building and Main Building
The new activities entrance will be ADA accessible, provide greater security before, during, and after activities, and serve as a shelter during inclement weather. The space will also feature a dedicated display area for trophies and awards.
Concessions Area in the Activities Hallway
The dedicated concessions area in the Activities Hallway creates a secure space for equipment and food in a permanent location.
Replace / Upgrade Bleachers in the Main Gym
Upgraded bleachers provide increased seating capacity, enhanced viewing angles, and improve the overall experience for patrons. Additionally, new bleachers can be retracted when not in use, creating additional space in the gym for practice and other activities.
HVAC and Air Conditioning in the Main Gym
Installing updated HVAC and air conditioning systems in the main gym will create a safer, more comfortable environment for athletes, coaches, and patrons. It will also increase the overall amount of time the facility can be used during the year.
Construct a Four-Classroom Elementary Addition
The addition of four new elementary classrooms will provide the space needed to improve teaching strategies and handle increased enrollment. Access to the school playgrounds will also be improved.
Remodel a Rear Access to the Theater Stage
Remodeling the rear access to the theater stage will provide an exit and improve fire safety while also making it easier to load and unload equipment and materials into the theater.
Construct a New First-Floor Weight Room
A first-floor weight room will provide ADA accessible training facilities while creating additional space for weight training activities. This space may also become accessible to community users through the use of a secure key-card system.
Construct New Boys and Girls Locker Rooms
New locker rooms will provide direct access to the gym for players and coaches while eliminating traffic congestion for patrons during athletic events.
Construct a New Injury Treatment and Physical Therapy Facility
A new Injury Treatment and Physical Training Facility will provide dedicated space for working with injured athletes. It also will allow for the secure storage of materials and equipment.
