Shannon Black, LPC-MHSP-S is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor seeing clients both with Crayton Counseling, and in her private practice Brave Heart Counseling and Consulting, both in Murfreesboro. She has also taught at MTSU in both the Psychology undergraduate program and the graduate Professional Counseling Program. Shannon has a history of working in home with clients intensively around issues of family permanence and addiction. She currently treats clients who are teens and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, developmental trauma, attachment issues, gender and sexuality identity issues, and intra/interpersonal problems. She has studied interpersonal neurobiology for years and firmly believes we are hardwired at birth for connection.
Mara has an MSW from Columbia University and got her coaching certificate from the Institute for Life Coach Training. She enjoys her role as group facilitator in many different environments such as Meditation Centers, In-Patient Treatment, and Public Schools. She has studied, taught, and competed in martial arts for over 40 years. Her new creation, Kali Regulation Therapy is now being offered at Onsite Workshops and Integrative Life Center both for clients and staff. She also enjoys one-on-one training as well as working with couples and families to deepen somatic connections through empowered play.
