Hi I'm Mrs. Martin ! I can't wait to get to know my students and their families and I hope that you get to know me as well! I like to think of myself as a very enthusiastic and dedicated individual who is always willing to try new things and bring out the best in children. I have been with the Halton District School Board since 2006. I began my career as a Core French teacher, then taught Grade 1 for five years, and this will be my seventh year teaching kindergarten. Literacy is a big passion of mine and I love to share the joy of reading with others. Besides my degree in Education I have a Combined Honours B.A. in Psychology and English. I also have completed some Additional Qualification (AQ) courses in special education, inclusivity, outdoor learning, and teaching kindergarten. Every year I run an Eco Club at school for grades 1-6 and we have been successful in completing Ontario Eco Schools certification levels. At home, I have two sons (Ian, age 15 and Nathan, age 12), my husband Alex (who designs electronic equipment used in video-broadcasting), and a big fluffy cat named Godfrey. We live just outside the town of Dundas where I was born, raised and returned to after living briefly in Toronto and North Bay while completing my education. I have traveled many places and have had extended stays in France and Spain. Other interests of mine include hiking, nature, music, and healthy living. My goal is to create a welcoming, safe, and fun learning environment for all students to reach their full potential. I love learning and I want my students to as well!
Hi I’m Mrs. Goodfellow, I'm looking forward to meeting all the new families and welcoming back the previous families! Working with children has been my passion for over 25 yrs. I am originally from Vancouver, BC where I started working with kids in daycare and eventually ran my own preschool program in the inner city of Vancouver. My family and I moved to Ontario and I started working with kids in various settings in the Niagara and Halton regions, eventually I found my way to the school board. I was hired for the FDK program in the first year it started and I stayed! I live with my husband, Jeff , my son, Mason, we also have 3 dogs, Molly , Penny and Haimish, they are my furbabies! I love the arts in many of its form, I'm an avid cricutter (crafting machine), you will notice many matching shirts that I make for my teaching partner and I. I hope to build a strong connection with my students and their families , I'm a true believer that it takes a village to support our littles, please join me in this journey into the next steps of your childs life. It's going to be quite the adventure!
