My name is Teresa Baxter and have worked for the Halton district for almost 10 years. Within that time I have won two Inspire teaching awards and worked as a mentor teacher.

Prior to teaching in Halton I taught across the country in British Columbia, working on reserve with some of the most vulnerable and high need students. I moved to Ontario in 2015, from Vancouver Island, where I taught early primary for seven years. There, I held a specialty in play-based learning and intervention teaching for struggling learners. Since joining Halton District I have taken additional qualifications in Math, Writing, Applied Behaviour Analysis, and received a Specialist certification in Special Education.

I truly believe that my place, my passion, is working with our most vulnerable learners. I have worked in Life Skills for over 6 years; and am now so excited to be teaching grade 1 and 2. We are all going to learn so much while having a blast.
