A quick run down of the OYAP course:

4 credit OYAP course:  These classes run 1st and 2nd period each day (Sept-June), preferably during a students victory/focus lap (grade 13).  Level One Trade School Curriculum theory is the predominant portion of this program and takes approx 8-9 hours per week and follows part one automotive service technician curriculum similar to that of college.  That means students are earning high school credits while being trained in part one/level one trade school theory.

To compliment the OYAP program, students should have a least 2 credits (and preferably 4 credits) of CO-OP as this allows the co-op employers in the trade to get familiar with students and their skills.  Furthermore, it helps students to gain opportunity and potential future with these employers as they have the signing authority for apprenticeship registration, so, the more co-op the better the chances.

The cost of the program in Halton is $250.00.
