All marked work goes into the Book of Awesome duo-tang (portfolio), and electronic work is filed into their Gmail Book of Awesome folder (login required by student). Please ask to see your child's Book of Awesome periodically to track your child's progress. Students that score below a level 3 on an assessment are asked to have a parent/guardian sign it and show/email Mr. H.
Daily Homework (e.g. handouts, notebook/textbook work) and Google Classroom "Assignment" homework, such as Reading Responses are due the morning of the due date posted on my website. Reading Responses are due TUESDAY mornings. Mr. H does his homework checks around 8:30 AM, students need to submit before this time. Students are given one week to complete Reading Responses.
Mr. H will send an email if your child receives more than 3 homework strikes in a monthly cycle. I generally give ample class time to complete schoolwork.
The best place for extra practice is the math section on the Google Classroom (students login) and my website. You'll find videos, extra practice links, etc., to support your child's learning. Khan Academy, Math Antics, and IXL are highly recommended. I also post unit specific practice links to the class stream. Students also have a Knowledgehook account they can use to practice :)
