Cinematography Effect Photography
A Cinemagraph is an intriguing blend of still photography with a subtle hint of motion in the scene. They capture and hold our attention with their alluring quality. Not quite a photo, not quite a video, they trick the mind into thinking it’s seeing something magical and surreal.
You have probably seen cinemagraphs used in online advertising campaigns because they load instantly (unlike a video that has to be clicked on) and they grab our attention.
Your Assignment:
Create 2 “cinemagraphs” images using video footage you have shot and edit in Adobe Photoshop.
Steps:
~Watch the photoshop tutorial found in the Google Classroom assignment (https://youtu.be/pMpUdfjZygs)
~Brainstorm ideas and practice shooting a video that works well for this technique.
~Edit your video in Photoshop. (Trim length, layer mask movement, etc.)
~Once complete, Export (save for web) your video as a GIF file. Make sure it is set to Loop Forever and reduce the image size by at least 50%. Optimize file size.
