If you are away...

Attendance at school is expected but absences happen throughout the school year, whether due to illness, family emergency, or another reason. Here are some suggestions in order to help you so that you do not get behind. It is your responsibility to find out what you have missed.

  • if you know that you will be away, let your teachers know as soon as possible so they can, if they are able, let you know what you will be missing so that you will not be behind when you return
  • if you know you are going to be away and you have an assignment due, hand it in BEFORE the due date, so that it is not late
  • call/text/email a friend to find out what you have missed. This way you know what you have to do when you get back to school.
  • organize with a friend to lend you the missed work
  • copy any missed notes during extra time at the end of a class or while you are eating during break
  • email Mme Takman so that she knows that you will be away
  • if you know you will be missing a test let Mme Takman know so that another time can be arranged
  • if you haven't been able to finish an assignment or if you think you will not be able to finish an assignment, let Mme Takman know AHEAD of time and NOT as the assignment is being collected
