La biographie de Mme Kobzar

I have two passions in life, the French culture and food!!!

My French journey began when I was 5 years old. My parents enrolled me in the French Immersion program in senior kindergarten in the Peel District School Board. Neither one of my parents spoke French, so I learned the language solely from my amazing teachers along the way, graduating high school with the Peel District School Board bilingual certificate. I continued my education at York University where I studied French linguistics earning my bachelor of arts degree in French studies. My love of the language transported me to France where I lived and worked as an English teaching assistant for a year. Once back in Canada I made it official, and I earned my bachelor of education in the primary/junior French division at the University of Western Ontario. Soon after I accepted my first teaching position with the Halton District School Board at Sunningdale Public School. After four great years in Oakville, I decided to make the move to Milton. I have spent the last couple of years teaching at Irma Coulson Public School, and I am looking forward to making my seventh year teaching the best one yet at Martin Street Public School!

My goal this year is to expose my students to authentic French experiences to develop a real love and passion for the French language and culture to help each individual child understand how French can enrich their lives well into their own future.

I recently graduated from Niagara College with a Baking and Pastry Arts certificate and love to combine my passion of cooking/baking and teaching and bringing them together into the classroom for my students to experience first hand.

I strive to live a healthy lifestyle by cooking with local ingredients from scratch and by staying active. I look forward to using the environment to get students involved in many different opportunities this year.

Lastly on a personal note, this year is extra special to me as I just got married!!! We have had an amazing start to the year. It has been so great getting to know my students, their French journeys and meeting most of their families already!
