Jays Care Foundation
Challenger Baseball
By registering to be a Jays Care Affiliate School, your school will receive a free 2 hour virtual training session on inclusive sport, adaptive baseball equipment, uniforms for all athletes (hats/shirts) and other amazing opportunities, such as attending a baseball game or the annual Jamboree on the field at the Rogers Centre! It’s all FREE and ANY school can sign up.

Special Olympics School Programs
Elementary Sports Festivals
Sport Festivals provide an entry point to Special Olympics for our youngest athletes. Focusing on developing Physical Literacy and movement confidence, Sport Festivals target the Active Start & Fundamental stages of the Long Term Development Model.
Special Olympics Ontario will provide hosting support to schools who would like to host a local Sport Festival. Hosting support includes:
Registration and Advertisement
Equipment Loans
Event day logistics support
Staff support where necessary

Secondary Programs
Secondary School Qualifiers provide quality competition opportunities to student athletes aged 13-21 in five sports: basketball, soccer, bocce, floor hockey, and virtual track & field. Teams are divisioned prior to each event to ensure competition is fair and balanced. Registration for each qualifying event is $5 per student. All competitions offer both a Traditional Division, where all athletes have an intellectual disability, as well as a Unified Division where teams are comprised of athletes with AND without an intellectual disability.
School Championships
The School Championships program is returning to in-person competition this year, hosting events across the province in all 5 Sports!
The School Championships program is primarily a Secondary School program providing quality competition opportunities to student-athletes aged 13-21 in five sports: soccer basketball, bocce, floor hockey and virtual track and field. Para Sport Ontario
Wheelchair Basketball School Program
The Wheelchair Basketball School Program was created in partnership with Wheelchair Basketball Canada in 2017, and was initially made possible thanks to the generous support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation1. Since the program began in 2017, we have visited more than 200 schools across the Greater Toronto Area, introducing wheelchair basketball to well over 100,000 students!

‘Have a Go’ Sessions and Individual Loans
As part of our Bridging the Gap program, we provide a variety of programs and services for students with physical disabilities and their teachers to encourage full participation in physical education classes and other school sport activities.
‘Have a Go’ sessions to introduce our sports (and/or general wheelchair sport activities) to a specific class or group
Individual sport wheelchair loans to encourage active participation in physical education classes
Resource guides and ongoing support for teachers looking to provide more inclusive physical education programming for students with physical disabilities
Connections to community programs for students interested in participating in adaptive sport outside of school
