Auto Collision Repair & Welding
Auto Collision Repair & Welding is a hands-on program that will provide students with instruction in the areas of non-structural damage repair, refinishing and welding. The program prepares students for entry level employment in auto body and related industries. The program is National Automotive Technical Foundation (NATEF) accredited and students are eligible to receive ASE credentials. The program utilizes an industry recognized curriculum, I-CAR PDP-EE. Students will have the opportunity to earn I-CAR Platinum™ ProLevel 1 credentials for the Non-Structural Technician and Refinish Technician roles, giving students the technical knowledge and a distinct competitive advantage in the industry. Students will also have the opportunity to receive OSHA 10 certification and I-CAR welding certification (anticipated in 2021-2022).
Automotive Services
The Automotive Services program consists of classroom instruction along with hands-on training as students learn to diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide range of vehicles. Students will become knowledgeable about basic automotive systems and their operation. In the shop, students are trained in automotive engine operations, vehicle maintenance and repair, steering and suspension systems, brake systems, and electrical systems. They will also perform routine service work such as brakes, tune-ups, tire services, exhaust system repairs, lubrications and some basic welding.
Automotive Technology
Students interested in a career in the automotive technology field are encouraged to enroll in the two-year Automotive Technology ASE-NATEF Certified program. The program provides students the opportunity to excel through specialized training in an up-to-date service shop. Training includes automotive engine operations, vehicle maintenance and repair, steering and suspension systems, computerized engine control, brake systems, electrical systems, basic heating, ventilation and air conditioning, transmissions, axles, fuel and ignition systems, and front end alignment. A challenging curriculum delivered by an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certified Master Technician prepares students with opportunities to master skills required to pass the ASE certification examinations, the most recognized certifications in the automotive industry. In addition to ASE Certifications, other certifications include Snap-on ShopKey Pro, Electronic Service Information, Valvoline Lubricant, and EPA Automotive Refrigerants.
