The myON digital library and its special features can be accessed online from any web-enabled device. Up to 20 books at a time can be downloaded to read offline whenever WiFi isn’t available.
How do you get free books?
Be sure you are connected to WiFi.
Go to www.myon.com
Enter the following information:
School Name: New York Reads (Begin by entering the first few letters, then click on it from the drop-down menu)
Username: read
Password: books
Select a book and start reading!

How many books do the students have to read?
Two
How many assignments do the students have to complete?
Two - one per book
Can the students do the same assignment for both books? (for example, 2 book reviews)
Sure!
Why can't parents open the book review or the booktalk video links?
Students need to login using their HCSD accounts. They should hopefully know how to do that at this point (first initial, last name, 2 digit year of graduation @hcsdk12.org). Only the book review & video require the student account because they use it to submit the assignment.
Do students need to select one fiction and one non-fiction title?
No! They can pick two fiction, two non-fiction, or one of each - their choice!
