PREK Screening
The Screening process in Hamburg allows us to get to know you and your child a bit better, identify the skills your child has coming into PreK and establish a baseline to measure progress throughout the school year. Screening of all new school entrants is required by NYS.
Prior to your PreK Screening:
Complete the PreK Questionnaire sent via Operoo
Complete the PreK Parent Report: Self-Help and Social Emotional Scale sent via Operoo
During your PreK Screening:
You and your child will have the opportunity to meet with your child's teacher and ask questions about the UPK program
Your child will complete the Brigance III screener with their teacher. This portion of the screening will help the teacher to see what language and early academic skills your child has as they enter PreK.
Only two adults may accompany your PreK child to screening, as we have limited space.
The entire screening appointment will take approximately 20 minutes. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time
