Effective Searching in Databases

Additional periodicals, primary sources, and videos are available here. You can limit by Lexile (reading difficulty) or Source Type.

Start here! Go to Browse Issues and locate your topic by doing a CTRL + F. Once on the topic portal, read the overview article by clicking on the blue button that says, "Read More".

To BROWSE for a topic, find an area of the world via Explore the Regions on the front page. Pick a country in that area. Under History & Issues, select Contemporary Issues.

Effective Searching in Scholarly Databases

When using EBSCO's Academic Search Premier, remember to limit to FULL TEXT! Once in an article, grab the permalink as well as the citation. These are located along the right hand side of the document.

After you have found an article in JSTOR, the easiest way to read it is to download the PDF. The citation with URL are located to the left side of the PDF document.
