There are plenty of places to run near our high school with Wilde Lake and Lake Kittamaqundi so close and Centennial Lake not too far away. Sometimes it's nice to get out and enjoy nature on trails. Trails also give your legs a break from the hard pavement which is great for long runs. Many of these trails have plenty of hills, with the exception of Lake Elkhorn.
Located behind Rockerburn Elementary. There is a great trail system here. It connects to the Avalon portion Patapsco State Park. Good for any distance with some nice rolling hills. You can definitely run more than 10 out there.
Located off of Marriotsville Road. The trails here are good for 7-8 mile runs, but not much farther. The hills are challenging, but once your on the river it's pretty flat.
Located off of Broken Land Parkway. It's about 2 miles to run around the lake, but you can run under the highway towards historic Savage. It's about a 7 mile run out to Savage Mill and it's pretty flat.
Located off of Trotter Road, near Riverhill HS. I have never run there, but looks like it could have some cool trails.
This is a short trail, but has multiple off shoots. Good for a 4-5 miler. It is all uphill one way. If you run in the morning stop by Old Mill Café and get a homemade pop-tart.
