Mobs are anything that moves and you can kill in Minecraft. Some will try to kill you back others will not and some will try to kill you first.

Zombies will follow and damage you. They are dangerous in groups. They are easy to kill. Just hit them with a sword or bow. It burns in day light. If it has a helmet, it will not burn.

What this picture shows is what not to do if you see a skeleton. The best way to kill it is to use a bow, or you can use a shield and sword and use it to block the arrows and kill the skeleton with my sword, but if you do see a cliff then you should do this.
