Diamonds are the best ore in the overworld. They are very good if you use them for anything, but they are hard to get when mining and spawn near lava sometimes. So, they are hard to get and very valuable.

Redstone is a ore. You can't make any weapons or armor with it, but it is like the wireing of minecraft because you can do many things with it.  This is redstone.

Iron is a good resource, but when you can get better things or fight stronger mobs, iron won't cut it. An iron pickaxe is the only pickaxe (not above diamonds or diamond) that can break diamond ore and drop diamonds. This is a picture of iron.

Gold is a good ore for anything but making tools and armor. You can use it to trade with piglens and get some cool thing in return. Other than that - gold really sucks.
