Wendy's was established on November 15, 1969 in Columbus, Ohio. It was founded by Dave Thomas. Wendy's was shortly after known for its square beef patties, made from fresh beef, and the iconic drink called the Frosty.
The Frosty was one of five original Wendy's menu items, which are all proudly still on the menu today. This signature treat was co-created in 1969 by Fred Kappus, CEO of Kappus Company, an Ohio-based foodservice equipment distributor, and Wendy's founder, Dave Thomas. It has a creamy texture that's thicker than a milkshake but not as firm as traditional scooped ice cream. Orange Dreamsicle Frosty follows the previous seasonally-inspired successes of Wendy's Strawberry, Pumpkin Spice and Peppermint Frosty treats. The Orange Dreamsicle Frosty will join the Chocolate Frosty on menus, replacing the Vanilla Frosty, for a limited time at participating U.S. Wendy's.
