Could you imagine soccer without Cristiano? Well, you have Albert Fantrau to thank for Ronaldo! One day, a scout came to Ronaldo's soccer team to recruit a player. He told the team whoever scored the most goals will have the opportunity to play for the youth team. Cristiano scored the first while Albert scored the second. Later, Albert was in a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper with Cristiano to his side. He passed to Ronaldo who scored. It was Ronaldo who was recruited for the team. When Cristiano asked Albert why he did this, he said, " Because you are better than me." This is known as the greatest assist in football!
While playing with Sporting at 14, Cristiano was diagnosed with Racing Heart Syndrome, meaning his heart was always beating fast, even while he was resting. This disease could have caused the death of Cristiano as the only way to get rid of this disease is a pricey surgery, which Ronaldo’s family cannot afford. Luckily, Sporting Lisbon agreed to cover the cost of the surgery, which was a success.
