Check out the slide presentation below that details the typical 9th grade Social Studies course options. All HCPSS students are required to take at least three social studies credits that must include:
United States History (On-level, Honors, or GT),
American Government (On-level, Honors, or AP), and
World History (On-level, Honors, or AP).
Most students will take US History in 9th grade, American Government in 10th grade, and World History in 11th grade. However, many students begin taking Social Studies electives beginning in the 10th grade.
Here is the Social Studies Course Sequence Guide including a list of electives.
Check out the presentation below to find out more information on electives typically offered at MRHS.
All elective offerings are based on student course requests, and any approved elective will be offered to meet student requests. For example, Ethics and Community Culture is not a course typically offered; however, if enough students request the course, we will offer it at MRHS.
Please contact Brent Ault, Social Studies ITL at Brent_Ault@hcpss.org with any Social Studies related questions.
