Science Course Information for New and Incoming 9th grade Students:

Check out the slide presentation below that details the typical 9th grade Science course options. All HCPSS students are required to take at least three lab based science credits that are Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) aligned to graduate. Although many of our students take a 4, 5 or 6 science credits over the course of their four years. We offer many elective options that help students determine fields of interest prior to entering college.

  • Earth Science,

  • Biology (GT - 9th grade or On Grade - 10th grade),

  • Advanced Physical Science (Chemistry & Physics Standards),

  • Chemistry GT, and / or

  • Physics (AP 1, AP Mechanics, AP E&M).

Science Electives for the Future:

Check out the links for each elective course, the videos for specific courses below, or view the overall video for all electives traditionally run at MRHS. Note all courses in the course catalog. If we have enough interest we will most certainly run a course that may not have traditionally ran at Marriotts Ridge.
