Transcript Request and Letter of Recommendation Process

Please follow the Step-by-Step directions below on how to send transcripts and request letters of recommendation in Naviance. You must follow these steps in the order that they are presented- you cannot go out of order. All transcripts for current Hammond students are FREE! 

Already Graduated??

Student that graduated within the last 5 years (class of 2019-2023) must fill out this form.

STEP 1: SUBMIT THE WAIVER OF RIGHTS AND RELEASE OF RECORDS FORM 

Copy of 23-24Waiver of Rights Form

This form must be filled out and signed. You can then submit this to the registrar's office 20 SCHOOL DAYS prior to the application deadline date.


***You cannot submit this until your counselor and two teacher information forms are signed in Naviance (see below)!!!

STEP 2: ASK TWO TEACHERS TO WRITE YOUR LETTER OF RECOMMENDATIONS AND SUBMIT THE TEACHER/COUNSELOR INFORMATION FORMS

These two slides explain how to ask a teacher to write a letter of recommendation and what teacher is the most appropriate to write a letter for you.

You can find the information in Naviance by clicking the down arrow next to your initials in the top right corner. From the drop down, click "Surveys From Your School".

Majority of colleges will require a counselor letter of recommendation. You do not need to ask your counselor, in person, if they will write your letter. Please make sure to fill out the counselor and teacher information forms in great detail. The more information, the better the letter!

STEP 3: MATCH COMMONAPP TO NAVIANCE (AFTER SEPT 1ST)

If you are using Common App, you MUST match Common App to Naviance. This is how transcripts and letters of recommendation are sent through Naviance.


**You MUST sign FERPA in Common App in order for teachers and counselors to send letters!

If you would like a teacher/coach/mentor/ manager to write a letter for you and they are not in Hammond High School, please provide them with an email or address where they can send their letters.
