Two-year or community college is a great option for students who are unsure of their academic direction, are looking for an affordable option, or want to stay close to home. Students can earn their associate degree and transfer to a four-year college or university to complete their bachelor degree, OR earn professional certifications in their field of study without pursuing all of the general education courses that are required for an associates degree.
Community colleges offer "open enrollment," which means all applicants with a high school diploma will be admitted. Some specialty programs may have additional requirements for acceptance. Students must take a placement test (the Accuplacer) or score a minimum on the SAT or ACT prior to enrolling in classes.

Each branch sets it own minimum score to join. Your score will help decide which jobs you can do after you enlist.
