Film Production

This seminar is designed to explore the various types and uses of film through hands-on cinematic exercises. Students will integrate 21st Century technology skills into the creative process in order to learn how to effectively use digital media for communication.  Students will experience the film making process from pre-production to post-production and will gain knowledge of the professional language of film making. Students will explore sophisticated film and lighting techniques, editing, and the potential career opportunities in the film/video industry. In this seminar, students will enhance their visual literacy and writing skills while creating original products like public service announcements, documentaries, and stop motion films.

 Film Seminar is offered for Beginners and Advanced Film students

Each year the students in Advance Film participate in the Movies That Matter Film Festival. Their final projects are showcased at the Howard County "Movies That Matter Film Festival.  The festival showcases original student films created as part of Film Education.
