Students receive course request and graduation requirement lessons every year.
Students meet with their school counselor around January to discuss the courses they put on their course requests and alternates list.
School Counselors maintain credit checks for all students. In conjunction, students should have a graduation plan and know their course progress. It is imperative that students, along with their families, are aware of their academic needs.

Career Academies at the Applications and Research Laboratory (ARL)
Students have the opportunity to engage in academies related to a variety of fields, such as animation, design, HVAC, engineering, health professions, and more through Career Academies at the ARL.
These programs are two years in length, beginning in Junior year. Students take roughly half of their classes at GPHS and half at the ARL in both Junior and Senior year. There are limited spots in each academy, so a random enrollment process is used. A waitlist is maintained for programs that fill up.
Interested students should include the career academy in their course requests (typically January) and ensure a full list of alternates is selected.
Students who do not obtain a spot in a career academy should connect with their school counselor to identify alternate class options that support their career goals.
Career Academies at GPHS
GPHS offers a variety of career academies in-house. These are related to education, business, engineering, and more!
Interested students should include the class(es) associated with the career academy in their course requests and ensure a full list of alternates is selected. All classes in "home" academies are not guaranteed to be run. Classes run at GPHS are determined by student request. Therefore, if not enough students indicate interest in a a particular class, staffing will not be allocated to that class.
If a student is interested in a class that is not offered at GPHS, the individual should connect with their school counselor ASAP to discuss potential alternatives.
