Important Dates for 25-26 School Year

-Friday, August 22 - Centennial High School Marching Band Preview Show at 7:30 PM in CHS Stadium, weather pending
Come see the CHS Marching band perform their show they have worked hard on during band camp!  This will be the show they perform for home football games this year, Star Wars!

-Monday, August 25 - Band Registration opens
Students will be able to register online or on paper. Students that registered last year do NOT need to register again this year. Mr. Henley will be in touch with those that are already registered with important information to get the year started.

-Thursday, August 28 - Band Recruitment Presentation at CLES
All 4th and 5th grade students will learn about the instruments offered and  opportunities in the band program at CLES.  

-Week of September 1 - First lesson and rehearsal for Concert Band students, instruments/supplies required
5th grade student continuing the same instrument from last year.

-Wednesday, September 3 - First rehearsal for Beginning Band students that are already registered, instruments/supplies required
Students will learn procedures for instrument storage and rehearsal/lesson procedures.

-Wednesday, September 3 - Back to Music Night at CLES at 6:30pm in the cafeteria
This event is for parents/caretakers to learn about the band program at CLES and to ensure all are prepared for the year ahead. You will learn about grading policies, scheduling, practice habits, concerts, and many other aspects of the program. Hope to see you there! 

-Friday, September 19 - First rehearsal for Jazz Band (tentative)

-Monday, September 29 - Band Practice Night for Parents/Caretakers at 6:30pm in the cafeteria
This will be a more in-depth presentation about how to practice a band instrument, what to look for/listen for, and demonstrations of best practices/techniques when playing a band instrument. Parents/caretakers should leave with enough information to help their students practice and play successfully.

-Month of October - CLES Music Boosters Spirit Wear Sale/Fundraiser

-Friday, October 3 - Future Marching Eagles Night at Centennial High School
See what it's like to be in a high school marching band!  More details to come...  

-Wednesday, November 5 - Band Field Trip to see the CHS Wind Ensemble
More details to come! Students will get to see the CHS Wind Ensemble perform their Midwest Clinic concert program!

-Tuesday, November 11 - Veterans Day Assembly
This event will involve selected Concert Band members.

-Friday, December 12 - BMMS Articulation Concert at CLES in the morning

-Monday, December 15 - Winter Concert for all Band students at 6:00pm in CHS Auditorium
The in-school concert will also occur on this day.

-Week of January 5 - Platypus Jazz will begin (tentative)

-Monday of January - CLES Music Boosters Practice-a-Thon Fundraiser

-Tuesday, February 10 - Jazz Feeder Concert at 7:00pm in CHS Auditorium
This concert includes all feeder schools for CHS. The CLES Jazz Band will perform.

-Wednesday, February 11 - Snow date for Jazz Feeder Concert

-Friday, May 1 - 5th Grade Music Department Field Trip to Savage Mill

-Wednesday, May 6 - Spring Concert for all Band students at 6:30pm in CHS Auditorium
The in-school concert will also occur on this day.

-Tuesday, June 2 - CLES Spring Showcase Concert at 6:30pm in CHS Auditorium
This concert will include Jazz Band, Platypus Jazz, and select Concert Band members.

-Wednesday, June 3 - 5th Grade Music Department Pancake Breakfast
