Habit 1:

Be Proactive

"I am in charge of me"

"I have a positive attitude and always try my best at everything I do"

"I do the right things without being asked, even when nobody is looking"

"I choose my actions, attitudes, and moods and don't blame others"

A proactive learner is a can-do student -- a student who makes things happen rather than one who waits for things to happen.

They are engaged in class and view every day as a learning opportunity not to be missed. Proactive learners stop and think before they act. They choose their actions, moods, and attitude and do not blame others for the decisions they make.

Proactive learners say: “I take responsibility for my education. I am the captain of my life. I can choose my attitude. I’m responsible for my own happiness and unhappiness. I am in the driver’s seat of my destiny, not just a passenger. I have the freedom to choose my destination.”

Leaders of the Pack

Every month, a student is nominated from each classroom as a "Leader of the Pack." These students demonstrate leadership by practicing the habit of the month throughout our school. Leaders of the Pack lead the way by setting an example for others and showing what it means to use the 7 Habits. Check out our Leaders of the Pack who were using Habit 1 - Be Proactive!
