Head Boy's Varsity Basketball Coach
Coach Rice was a member of Hanover High School's first graduating class in 2004. He was the Varsity team caption and All-Conference for the Hawks in 2003-04. Coach Rice played at Bridgewater College from 2006-09 where he was also a Team Captain and All-Conference his senior season. Coach Rice graduated in 2009 with an Allied Health Science degree and began his career as a personal trainer. In 2011, Coach Rice was named Varsity Head Coach at Mechanicsville High School, where he coached until 2014. In 2015, Coach Rice was named Varsity Head Coach at Hermitage High School. where he led the Panthers to a 19-5 record in his first season, the most since 2005. In his 2nd season, Coach Rice helped lead Hermitage to a 20-5 record, along with a Conference 11 Regular Season Championship and Tournament Championship. Coach Rice was also named Conference 11 Coach of the Year . He currently holds the school record for win % (.796) with an overall record of 40-10 in his two seasons at Hermitage. In his first 4 Seasons at Hanover, Coach Rice has complied a record of 53-34, with a boys program record of 15 wins in a season (2024-25). He is currently the Senior Teacher at Hanover and recently earned his Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Longwood University in 2021.

Assistant Boy's Varsity Basketball Coach
Bio: Coach Ruffin was born in Richmond, VA and grew up in Auburn, AL. He played 4 years of basketball under Frank Tolbert and graduated in 2001 from Auburn High School. Coach Ruffin went on to play at Walters State Community College for 2 years where he won the NJCAA Region 7 Title in 2002. He then transferred to The University of West Alabama where he finished his eligibility. Coach Ruffin also spent 2 years as a student assistant coach at West Alabama. He graduated in 2007 with a degree in Physical Education and currently resides in Glen Allen, VA.

Bio: Coach Kinder, will be in his second-year coaching at Hanover. He is currently a senior at George Mason University studying Health and Physical Education, and a graduate of Mechanicsville High School. Coach Kinder's coaching experience includes the GMU Women’s Club Basketball Head Coach, as well as experience as a program assistant, supervisor, and referee with the Competitive Sports Department within Mason Recreation. Jordan is also a local basketball referee, and is graduating from George Mason in December 2021.
