Board Policy EF Instructional Resources - Local Policy - Selection Criteria -
Selection of resources is an ongoing process that includes the removal of resources no longer appropriate and the periodic replacement or repair of resources that still have educational value.
Weeding is an essential element of collection development that ensures the library's materials are useful and accessible. Library's print collection is limited by the space available to house it, and collections should change over time to reflect changes in the community, library standards and Board Policies. Weeding is a periodic evaluation of resources intended to remove items no longer useful from the collection.
