I am Julian, the Executive Committee Chairman for the upcoming year. I am truly honoured and forever grateful for this opportunity to serve the unit and lead alongside all of you. I hope that all of you can place your trust and support in me as we work together to bring the unit to greater heights.
In the coming year, I really hope each of us pushes ourselves to do our best in every aspect of the CCA. The upcoming Inter-Unit Drill Competition is an amazing chance to challenge yourself and strengthen the bond with your squadmates. As someone who previously took part, I admit it was not easy, but it was one of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had. The .22 Revolver Shooting Competition is another great opportunity to test your focus and patience while picking up a unique skill that not many get to experience.
Last term, we were able to achieve outstanding results: a treble in the .22 Revolver Shooting Competition, Campcraft Competition and the UG Social Media Challenge! Let us strive to live up to these standards in the upcoming year, and continue pressing ourselves to go even further.
Beyond these achievements, we should also continue to grow as individuals. Let us uphold the values and spirit that define our unit, and strive to be the best versions of ourselves, both in and out of training. I hope to see cadets step up into leadership roles, be it as a Squad I/C or even the Overall I/C of an event, gaining responsibility and growing in character along the way. I myself still have so much to learn, and I look forward to learning alongside all of you.
Moving forward, I hope for us to be more unified as a CCA and to treat this as our second home - a place beyond our classrooms where we can grow, learn, and support one another. Whether it’s planning events as a team or bonding during trainings, I hope every squad can come together to create lasting memories and motivate one another to strive for excellence. Inter-squad activities such as Unit Camp and Area Games Day give us the chance to bond across levels, strengthening the unit’s spirit. We are all in this four-year long journey together, so let’s make the most of it and continue to grow as one unit, forging genuine friendships along the way.
As we begin this new year, let us approach challenges with an open mind and a positive attitude. This year is not just about achieving awards or excelling in competitions, it’s also about learning from each experience. Let’s take every opportunity to grow, whether it’s stepping up as leaders, helping our peers, or trying something outside our comfort zone.
Once more, thank you to all the support throughout my NPCC journey so far. Let’s make this year a memorable and meaningful one for all of us.
