Introduction
This guide explains how Han Chiang candidates can register for Cambridge IGCSE exam via British Council’s portal.
PLEASE READ
Use a laptop or desktop with Google Chrome (preferable) to access the British Council’s Portal.
For candidates under the age of 18, parent are required to register (create an account) on behalf of the candidate. However, use the candidate’s email during registration.
For the First Name, Last Name and Address 4 column, kindly follow this format:
First Name: FULL NAME as per IC/Passport
Last Name: Leave blank
Address 4: School Name
It is advisable to decide which subjects that you wish to register before starting the registration process. (Refer to Appendix A)
The school highly encourage all candidates to complete all registration process by 31 January (Sat). For late submission, a penalty will be applied by British Council.
Please be reminded that all payments must be made strictly through the British Council's registration portal. Do not make any online transfers (even if there is an option available in the payment portal) or bank transfers separately, as they will not be accepted.
If you or you face any issues with making payment through the portal, kindly inform your Form Teacher immediately for assistance.
After Registration
● After you have registered, usually two weeks later, you will receive emails from British Council (Penang.Exams@britishcouncil.org.my) containing the following information. Kindly check your inbox or spam/junk box. (You will receive the following emails separately in different time)
Final Statement of Entry with the attached Statement of Entry
Oral test schedule (for subject with oral test)
Examination results information
● Print out your Statement of Entry documents (on a white sheet of paper) and check your personal particulars (name, ID number, date of birth, and gender) printed.
● If you find any error, reply email to British Council containing your name, candidate number and correction(s).(Reply within one week from the sender’s email date)
● Starting time for all papers are categorized into THREE session:
AM 09:00AM
PM 01:00PM
EV 05:00PM
(If two papers fall into the same session, a 15 minutes supervised break will be given in between both papers.)
