A little about Amy:
Amy Szymanski, M.Ed., has over 25 years of experience in the education field, primarily in the area of special education. Ms. Szymanski holds a level of expertise in the areas of secondary transition for students with disabilities and dropout prevention. She has presented on this topic at the local, state, and national levels. Ms. Szymanski currently works as the statewide Secondary Transition and Workforce Development consultant at the State Support Team Region 1. She serves as the lead in multiple projects for the Ohio Department of Education, Office for Exceptional Children. Before her current position, Ms. Szymanski developed a diverse skill set working as a Technical Assistance Consultant in the Education Program at American Institutes for Research (AIR) and serving in Ohio as an elementary special education teacher, a school district special education coordinator, and special education and school improvement consultant for the State Support Team Region1.

A little about Matthew:
Matthew Longfellow is a 2004 graduate of Indiana State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace Administration; following college, he served as an officer and a pilot in the United States Air Force for nearly eight years. After leaving military service, Matthew joined the Office of Workforce Development at the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, where he initially began helping veterans overcome barriers to employment while helping them find careers. For the last six years, he has been serving with the ApprenticeOhio unit, helping both employers and educators make the connection to enable youth and others entering the labor force to find quality employment through State Recognized Pre-Apprenticeship and Registered Apprenticeships.

Amy’s passion is helping students find and develop their unique gifts and talents. After developing school mentoring programs for a non-profit, serving as a high school drug and alcohol counselor, and a decade in direct marketing and sales, Amy started in sales with YouScience in 2013 and has enjoyed working with schools in Ohio for over 7 years. Amy earned a B.S in Psychology from Florida State University and an M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern Mississippi. Amy, her husband, three children, and her dog currently live in Holly Springs, NC.

A little about Drews:
Drews Mitchell serves as a Career and College Counselor for the Loveland City School District. In this role, he develops career education systems for students in grades 6-12 designed for post-secondary awareness, exploration, and planning. These systems are designed for high levels of student engagement. Mr. Mitchell also serves as the experiential learning coordinator for Loveland High School.

A little about Jessie:
Jessie Zink is a Student Services Supervisor and Secondary Curriculum Specialist for Northmont City Schools. This is her 10th year with the district. She started her career as a middle school ELA teacher and gifted intervention specialist. Over the past five years, Jessie has led the district's work to establish PreApprenticeships, add 12-point credentials, and create career pathways at Northmont High School. This year she is focused on extending those pathways to grades 7 and 8, supporting the opening of the high school’s new welding lab, and increasing opportunities for internships.

A little about Seth:

Seth left his teaching and football coaching career to join his family’s business management system consulting company in 1997. Seth has an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Curriculum Design. He has completed post-graduate studies at MIT in Business Systems Design, Strategic Management, Innovation, and Problem Solving while earning his Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. A little about Anne:
Anne Johnson has spent her career working with people – in health care,
long term services and supports, fundraising and organization
development, serving in several leadership roles. Anne’s experience and
passion to collaborate with others gives her a solid background to work
with many organizations and focus on results through successfully helping
to establish high performing and cross functional teams.
In addition to being the co-founder of ImpactDS Consulting and co-author of Elder

A little about me:
I have been teaching for 12 years. Ten years as an Agriculture Education Teacher teaching classes in Agribusiness and Production Systems, Animal Science and Management, Power Technology, and Horticulture Pathways. A little about Cassie:
Cassandra Palsgrove is the Director of the Office of Graduate Success in the
Center for Teaching, Leading, and Learning at the Ohio Department of
Education. The Office of Graduate Success is a critical enabler in supporting
the state’s efforts to increase annually the percentage of high school
graduates who are enrolled and succeeding in a post-high school learning
experience; serving in the military; earning a living wage; or engaged in a self-
sustaining vocation.
Cassie is currently focusing on projects that engage stakeholders and
partners from higher education, business & industry, workforce, and other
state agencies to help support school counselors, teachers, and school and
district leaders to develop and implement systemic PreK-12 strategies to help
students consider their post-high school paths and ensure they are well
prepared to pursue them.
As a classroom career-technical educator before her work at the department,
she engaged students in meaningful experiential learning and career
exploration opportunities through Agricultural Education. She and her
husband Brent resides in Fairfield County, Ohio with their two children Carter
and McKinley.
