Our Greenhouse Plant Sales Start on April 10th!!!
We host a large selection of natives, indoor plants, vegetables, succulents, and herbs.
The Hixson FFA Chapter was established in 2011 after our Advisor and Agriculture Education teacher joined the Hixson High School team from his previous position working in conservation aquaculture with the Tennessee Aquarium.
We have many facilities including two greenhouses (2,165 sq ft each), a shadehouse, a developing cut flower garden, a sculpture and dye garden filled with native and important pollinator host plants, our eLab. Our facilities offer students many areas to work in and develop career skills and confidence.
Classes offered:
Agriscience
Principles of Plant Science and Hydroculture & Greenhouse Management
UAV (Drones) in Agriculture
Horticulture Science Work-Based Learning Career Practicum
Our program is a huge advocate of the growth of native plants: we grow plants that flourish in our hardiness zone and attract pollinators for reproduction. Our other production categories include, but are not limited to, hydroponics, vegetables, fruits, herbs, house plants, and succulents. We will soon be making the addition of a cut flower garden and a dye garden.
