East Ridge Middle School Library

• Hours of Operation: 7:35AM to 3:00PM Tutoring Club Hours 3:00-4:30

• Most digital resources are available 24/7 with a device and login

Borrowing

• Students may borrow two books from the physical library at a time

• Students may borrow one eBook from the eBook library

• All materials may be checked out for two weeks

• Books may be returned at the circulation desk

Renewals

• A student may renew a book as long as there is no other request

• Renewals can be accomplished at the circulation desk or by email

Overdue

• Over due notices are sent to the homeroom teacher

• The third overdue notice is sent home

• Lost books will be added to holds based on the value of the book

Expectations and Library Guidelines

Outside Materials

• No Food is allowed in the library

• No Drinks other than water are allowed in the library

• No Backpacks are allowed in the library except for Tutoring or Clubs

Personal Devices

• No Smart Phones or Cell Phones are allowed during regular hours.

• No hand held games are allowed

Library Equipment

• Students are to maintain and respect all library equipment

• Only teachers and aides are allowed to use the copy machine

• Students must log into assigned numbered computers at all times

• Only teachers and aides are allowed in the work room.

Noise Level

• When in groups or working on projects all talking should be soft

• During assessments, all testing guidelines are followed

Monitoring

• The library is monitored 24/7 by a digital security system
