This is my first time logging into MOODLE - what is my username and password?
Your username is the first initial of your first name + your last name + the last 3 digits of your Student ID#
Password: An uppercase “H” + lowercase “cc” + the last six digits of your HCC ID number.
Ex. John Smith 000123456 = Hcc123456

What browser should I use for MOODLE?
It is recommended that you Firefox in order for MOODLE to work properly. Firefox is the most compatible Internet platform. If you do not have Firefox, you can access it through Chrome, Safari etc. We do not reccomend
How do I update my profile in Moodle?
Your MOODLE profile displays information about you to other MOODLE users. You can also add a photo to your profile (can be useful for professors and for other course members to easy identify with you).

Why did MOODLE log me out during a quiz and lose my results?
Your browser has an idle timeout of 30 minutes. If you are inactive for 30 minutes, you will be automatically logged out and your unsaved results may be lost because of the inactivity.
I am not able to open documents in my MOODLE course. What do I do?
Please ensure that you have the appropriate application (e.g. correct version of Microsoft Office or Open Office) to open your document. If in doubt, check with your instructor which application you should use.
How can I reduce the amount of scrolling needed to get to later lessons in a course in MOODLE?
To the right of each numbered topic or weekly areas in a course, there will be a rectangle. Click once on the rectangle of the desired topic or week to hide all other numbered topical or weekly areas, leaving the top section of the course and the selected topic or week visible. There will now be a double rectangle to the far right of the visible topic or week. Clicking on the double rectangle will return you to the previous display of seeing all topics or weeks.
When I click on the link to view a PDF file, it just hangs and doesn't download or open the file?
You may need to update the version of Adobe Reader on your PC. Go to Adobe Reader (http://get.adobe.com/reader/) and download the latest version.
Once the installation is complete, try clicking on the file link again in MOODLE and the document should open immediately.
How do I navigate in MOODLE?
The easiest way to navigate in MOODLE is to use the Navigation Menu.
New Student Orientation & Lean MOODLE
Encourage new online students to self-enroll in the New Student Orientation as well as Learn MOODLE. These two resources are extremely helpful in preparing the online student to the class environment and strengthen their navigational skills within the system.
What is “eTutoring”?
eTutoring is an online tutoring platform which allows tutors to work with students synchronously and asynchronously, answering questions in real time, or replying to questions and essay submissions that students have left for review and commentary.
