No Microsoft Word?
No worries Google Docs is an alternative you can use via HCC email
Accessing Google Docs via your HCC email
- Log into your HCC email.
- Click on the Google Apps button next to your profile name to view your HCC Google apps.
- Click “Docs” to access an empty document.
- A new tab will appear with your GOOGLE Docs.
- To create a new GOOGLE document
- Click on “+” in the lower right corner of your screen
- An “Untitled Document” will appear for editing.
There are two ways to rename your “Untitled Document”
- One way is to hover your cursor over the “Untitled Document” then clicking on it.
- A new window will appear allowing you to rename your document. Click “OK” to save changes.
The second way is like saving a file under MicroSoft Word.
- Click on “File ” from the toolbar and select “Rename”.
- A new window will appear allowing you to rename your document. Click “OK” to save changes.
- Formatting in GOOGLE Docs works similar to MicroSoft Word and saves automatically into your GOOGLE drive.
Sharing your Google Docs
- Click on the “Share” button on the upper right hand corner.
- A new window will appear allowing you to search for a person or people you wish to share your GOOGLE Doc with.
- Click on the “Send” button to finish sharing your GOOGLE Doc.
Changing your GOOGLE DOC file format
- Click on “File” from the toolbar and select “Download As”.
- Select your choice of formatting:
- MicroSoft Word
- OpenDocument
- Rich Text Format
- PDF Document
- Plain Text
- Web Page
- A new window will appear allowing you to rename and/or save your Google Doc.
- Your Google Doc will automatically download in the saved format and onto your computer or flash drive.
