Profiles in your browser are a great way to keep your HCC account separate from your other accounts.
If you have a personal Gmail account or you are affiliated with another organization that uses Microsoft for authentication services, you will benefit from having a separate profile for your HCC Account.
Most browsers support profiles
HCC recommends Chrome with the latest patches.
Start by adding a new profile to your browser, then sign in at my.hcc.edu.
Manage Chrome with multiple profiles
When you visit websites, your browser stores parts of the page, like images, scripts, and cookies, to help it load faster the next time. While this improves performance, it can sometimes cause problems.
For example:
You might see an outdated version of a webpage or document.
Old cookies can interfere with authentication, especially when using Single Sign-On (SSO) or switching between multiple accounts (e.g., personal and work logins).
You may experience access errors, failed logins, or pages not loading correctly after updates to applications or resources.
Although browsers are designed to check for updated content automatically, this doesn’t always happen reliably. Clearing your cache and cookies regularly helps ensure you're seeing the most current content and can prevent login or display issues.
