Our Student Website is a landing page that provides:
ease of access for students and teachers (keep track of your most important links and tools)
continuity and clarity of communication (students are empowered to be able to look back at things they missed and locate supports, and teachers don't have to fit everything into a 140-character Remind message!)
the space and tools for students to be responsible for their own learning, and to build strategies and resources for life-long learning
a platform to practice digital navigation, and a stepping stone to blended offerings that come at the end of our ESOL sequence
access to advising resources for students, and that they can share with their communities (so many of our students are leaders who support family, friends, and community in navigating life in Western MA!)
At the highest levels, our blended courses already use Google Classsroom. For Levels 1-3 (except for blended evening Level 3 at LAALC), teachers should build a simple page for their class on the Student Website.
In addition to English language resources, students can find job opportunities, community resources, and learning links on topics aligned to students' goals (citizenship, digital literacy, drivers and CDL licenses, etc.).
