New/Prospective Student Scholarship Information
These Scholarships are made available through the State of Louisiana.
These Scholarships are made available through the State of Louisiana.
Applying for a Scholarship is not the same as applying to Highland Baptist Christian School (HBCS).
It does not guarantee you a spot or acceptance to HBCS.
To apply to HBCS please see the Home page to fill out the application.
How Scholarships work with Highland's Tuition and Fees:
Scholarships awarded are only applied to the Tuition amount.
The amount awarded is deducted from the Monthly Tuition Amount Total and then divided between the school year months to determine your "Monthly Tuition" owed by the Financial Responsible person(s).
example ... depending on when the student enrolls will determine the # of months in the students school year.
Monthly tuition fee X 10 (#of months in the school year) = Monthly tuition total.
Monthly tuition total - Scholarship amount awarded = Balance owed by Parent
Balance owed by Parent ➗ 10 ( # of months in the school year) = Monthly fee due by parent
The Financial Responsible person is responsible to pay for the Enrollment fee which is due at the time you register. That person is also responsible for all fees such as Class, Operational, HS Elective Fee and/or any other fees that may apply during the school year.
The scholarship applicant will need to come endorse the scholarship checks in a timely manner once the school receives them. This may be done quarterly or by semester. You will be notified at that time.

I suggest visiting the Scholars website often/periodically to make sure you have the up to date information.
This information is only a summary of the Scholarships.
www.acescholarships.org * www.aretescholars.org * La. Gator Scholarship
For ACE/Arete Students must be currently be enrolled at a Public School or entering Kindergarten.
LA Gator student must be entering Kindergarten or above grade levels.
Each Scholar requires you to upload financial and other information to their website. They each have their own requirements. See below flyer or scholars website.
Each Scholar charges a fee to apply for the Scholarship. The amount should be listed on their website.
Scholars determine if the applicant receives a scholarship and how much is awarded.
You will be notified via email directly from the Scholar if you are awarded a Scholarship.
Awarded amounts vary per applicant.
Scholarships are given individually; not as a family.
There is no guarantee of a scholarship just by applying.
Typically they are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis with priority on returning students and students currently awarded through the Louisiana Scholarship Program for as long as funds are available. I suggest reading the packet below and view their website to make sure there are no changes to this process.
Scholarships are awarded per school year. You must re-apply for that scholarship every school year at the Scholars website. This is not considered or done at the time you re-enroll the student at Highland via your FACTS/Parentsweb.
The scholar may require that the student take State testing and/or other assessments during the school year.
Highland Baptist Christian School Administrators or Staff do not determine who is awarded or the amount the applicants are awarded for any scholarship offered.
