Class Supplies, Google Classroom, & Remind

Required

• School-issued Chromebook AND charger.  PLEASE bring them with you EVERY DAY.

  • I will require you to use a Chromebook for classroom assessments (Quizzes & Tests), so it’s best to have one checked out from the Media Center.

  • I will have surge protectors available for you use for your Chromebooks if needed. 

  • I do have a limited number of Chromebook chargers available for you to use if you forget your charger. 

  • You should not use your phone to complete class assignments. 

• Google Account provided by Haywood County Schools

• Something to write with (pen/pencil)

• Something to keep your papers organized (pronged folder, 3-ring binder, etc. - whatever works best for you)

• For English IV / English IV Honors: pronged folder / report cover / 3-ring binder / scrapbook for the English IV Writing Project

Suggested

• Headphones / Earbuds

• Index Cards

• Sticky notes/flags/tabs

• Colored pencils, markers

I will use Google Classroom as our online classroom space. A majority of classroom materials and assignments will be provided via Google Classroom. Google Classroom is synced to our Infinite Campus roster, so you should already be invited/assigned to our Google Classroom page.

Google Classroom has three tabs:

• Stream - I will use this tab for posting the weekly agenda slides 

• Classwork - I will post assignments and course materials on this tab (see below for organization)

• People - I do not really use this tab, but here you will find a list of all of your classmates

I organize the Google Classroom "Classwork" Tab as follows: 

• by the week (for example - Week 1 | January 5 - 9, 2026) 

• each assignment will be numbered with the week # and then assignment # (for example - 1.1). 

• Any instructional materials will not be numbered. 

Haywood County Schools has chosen Remind as the primary communication platform. I will use Remind to communicate information with you about schedule changes (for example - Homeroom,  12:30 Release, 2-Hour Delay, Pep Rally, etc.) as well as reminders about upcoming quizzes and assignments.

Remind is linked to our Infinite Campus roster, but I highly encourage you to also sign up to receive Remind messages on your own device. Additionally, I recommend downloading the Remind app so that you can also message me back. 

To sign up for Remind, follow these steps:
