The media lab was named Waihonua to evoke the image of fluidity and permeability through which college units, faculty, staff, and campus relationships work together and how they flow together for learner success.
Waihonua's primary goal is to provide resources and services to students. However, learner success is also dependent on the support of faculty, staff, and other campus units. That is why Waihonua services extend to HawaiʻiCC personnel as well.
