Register for Classes

When your placement and health clearances are done, we want to meet with you to discuss your college plans and your career goals.  We'll meet you during New Student Orientation (we call it NSO) and/or an Advising appointment.  When we meet, we'll guide you through the class registration process and answer any questions you have about college.

Orientation and Advising

Do I sign up for Orientation or Advising?

New Student Orientation (NSO)

Are you attending college for the first time?

New students will attend a New Student Orientation, which introduces you to college expectations and resources. If you've taken college classes but only while you were in high school, then you are considered a new student.

Orientation has 2 parts; it starts with a group information session. After that, you will meet with an Academic Counselor or Advisor to discuss your plans and register for classes!

Academic Advising

Are you transferring to Hawaiʻi CC from another college or university?  Or have you taken a break from college and now youʻre ready to return?

For advising, you will meet with one of our Academic Counselors or Advisors.  We will look at your previous coursework to help you create a plan to reach your goals!
