Micronesian Wayfinder Club – Honolulu Community College
The Micronesian Wayfinder Club at Honolulu Community College is excited to welcome new and returning members for the upcoming semester!
Our club is dedicated to celebrating and preserving Micronesian culture, navigation traditions, and student community connections. Through gatherings, cultural workshops, and shared experiences, we aim to create a supportive space for students on campus.
Upcoming Event: Hoʻolauleʻa – April 22
The Hoʻolauleʻa on April 22 is a campus-wide event organized by Honolulu Community College, bringing together student clubs and organizations. Each group will host its own booth to share culture, activities, and information.
The Micronesian Wayfinder Club invites all students to visit our booth and take part in a meaningful cultural experience.
Featured Activity: Weaving Unity (Pandanus Leaves)
At our booth, we will be weaving a traditional mattress using pandanus leaves—an important practice across Micronesian and Pacific Island cultures.
This is more than a demonstration—it’s a shared experience.
Students are invited to take part in weaving one collective mattress. Each strand added represents unity, connection, and the strength of our student community.
What to Expect:
Hands-on weaving activity
Cultural sharing and learning
Student club booths from across campus
Opportunities to connect with other students
Whether you’re looking to get involved, learn something new, or connect with others, we welcome you to stop by.
