Week 10 - Compare/Contrast Essay

Introduction

This week, you will write and submit the final draft of your compare/contrast essay and you will read about and take the quiz Other Punctuation.

Learning Objectives

After successfully completing the compare/contrast lessons, you should be able to:

    • Determine the purpose and structure of the compare and contrast essay.

    • Understand how to write a compare and contrast essay.

Writing Your Compare/Contrast Essay Final Draft

Now that you have completed your first draft and have had your essay evaluated, you are ready to rewrite your compare/contrast essay into its final form.

Directions:

    • Review the grading rubric for the essay.

    • Review your peer evaluations.

    • Review instructor feedback.

    • Work through the “revising” stage of the writing process.

    • Work through the “editing” state of the writing process.

    • Review the MLA format.

    • Make use of resources in the Writing Resources as needed

After completing the final draft of your essay, please submit it. Details are in the "Activities" section below.

This grammar lesson focuses on four commonly used marks of punctuation: the semicolon, colon, apostrophe, and quotation marks. You may know how to use all or some of these; others may be less familiar.
