Hilo offers a variety of lodging options at different price points, from oceanfront resorts to locally owned inns and vacation rentals. Most hotels and accommodations are not within walking distance of Hawaiʻi Community College or the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo, so attendees should plan to rent a car or use rideshare services during their stay.

Hele-On Bus (cost is FREE, but keep in mind of timing as it is routed for other places in Hilo)

Other car shares: Turo, Uber, Lyft (all available in Hilo)
Hawaiʻi Island Airports
There are two main airports on Hawaiʻi Island
Conveniently located 15 minutes drive from the conference venue
Multiple daily flights between Honolulu and Hilo
Currently no non-stop flights from the continent
Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport at Keāhole
Located at least 1.5 hours drive from the conference venue (opposite side of the island)
Limited routes to Hilo via the free Hele-On island-wide bus service
Hilo Planning Team may be able to provide limited shuttle service to Hilo on Oct 21 - stay tuned
Renting a car from the Kona Airport is a great option if possible!

Parking is available on both campuses for conference attendees.
Parking on both campuses is free.
Attendees will be directed to designated conference parking areas.

Hilo offers a mix of resort-style accomidations and locally owned boutique stays. We recommend booking early, as Hilo has limited hotel inventory compared to larger Hawaiʻi destinations.
